About the authors

Gerhard and Henrietta Egger have lived in Rotorua since 1993. Over the years, they have had a variety of careers, including (but not exclusively) hospitality and farming. Since 2003, Gerhard has been a professional photographer specialising in commercial and food photography and styling—and together they have published three previous books.

The prequel to Volcanic Kitchens, a further collection of recipes, stories and photographs was the sell-out, award winning Volcanic Kitchens, come and join us, published in 2011. It won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award winner, ‘Best Photography Cookbook for New Zealand’ and was finalist in the ‘Fundraiser Division for New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific’.

Gerhard and Henri have generously made this book available to Rotorua Community Hospice to sell as a fundraiser.
